I'd like to introduce the "Weekly Look". The weekly look is not about labels and it is not about price, it's about looking your best on any budget. Here at Broke & Famous we're firm believers in DIY chic, so I purposely removed the prices & designer names. I'll provide the name of a designer for super unique pieces, simply because they deserve recognition.
So, for this weeks look I wanted to piece together something adorable and fantastic for an everyday look that keeps you modern, but classy. Pumps by DSQUARED2, everything else is pretty generic. Check your favorite stores for similar pieces, and send in pictures of your variations! I'll post the best executed looks every Saturday, and be on the look out for a new weekly look every Monday.
Fresh off the heels of a disappointingly tame court battle with ex-beau Chris Brown/Kristina DeBarge, Rihanna appears absolutely smitten with her new mystery guy last Friday in Venice, Italy.
Details are far and few on our favorite trend setter’s new love, but isn’t he a total Baldwin? No? Okay, so I lied.
Rihanna was in Venice for love, but not with this guy. I don’t think Monks can date anyway…can they? On a break from finishing up her fourth studio album due in November, Rihanna attended the lavish Italian wedding of her manager and good friend Marc Jordan. The new princess of Pop looked positively VICIOUS in a plum purple and black Alexander Wang dress.
I’ll be the first to admit that my mind becomes overrun with seriously violent thoughts at the idea of purple anything, but I cannot deny Rihanna looked incredible. The fur…thing she’s wearing is questionable, but forgivable. You can find her dress at ShopBop for $790.

Most of the people blogging about this gemhad no idea who Karl Lagerfeld was. I, on the other hand had no idea who this Simone Legno character was, I just wanted to marry him.
Simone Legno is an italian artist who is perhaps best known for being the founding creator of Tokidoki. Tokidoki is essentially a Lifestyle brand— think Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria Secret, Apple, Nike etc. Brand names that come to represent an entire sub-culture. I suppose Chanel itself could be considered a Lifestyle brand.
Anywho, Mr. Legno created a Karl Lagerfeld caricature of his famous Tokidoki figures. The figure retails for about $190 USD, and only one thousand of them will be produced. If anyone loved me, they would buy me forty of these.
You can order your own here. My birthday isn’t until May, but Christmas is right around the corner. Your thank you card is in the mail.
Thanks to my darling Dylan for this one!
I’m floored. Miuccia Prada’s Spring 2010 RTW line is completely brilliant. The chandelier touches add a level of elegance I haven’t seen much this season. Why aren’t I in Milan? Click the image to view my favorites from the collection on Style.com.
